As far as playoff prospects go, the Leafs will either go on the road to play the Panthers, Bruins, or Rangers depending on how those top teams in the East shake out. The Maple Leafs clinched their spot in the postseason on Friday night, and then they went to Montreal and beat the Canadiens on Saturday night, 4-2. However, with that hated rival out of the way, what will motivate the Maple Leafs the rest of the way? This team has bigger fish to fry, namely getting out of the first round, and then making a real Stanley Cup run.

Meanwhile, the Penguins are clawing tooth and nail for every point, as they are in a four-team dogfight for the final Wild Card position in the East. At the moment, the Red Wings hold that spot with five games to play, but the Pens and Capitals, who also have five games remaining, are just one point back. The Flyers are a point back of Detroit as well, but they have only four games remaining. Back to the Pens, who have won four straight, as they are firing on all cylinders, scoring goals, and riding the hot hand of goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic, who has been between the pipes for all of those victories. Pittsburgh has potted 19 goals over those last four games with five coming against the Lightning on Saturday in a game they won, 5-4. Before that, the Pens knocked off Washington, New Jersey, and the Rangers.
