Situationally speaking, it doesn’t get much better than this, as we catch both the Jets at the start of a crucial four-game road trip, while the Wild are wrapping up not only their season but also an extended six-game home stand that started way back on March 23rd. After tonight, the Wild head out to Chicago, Colorado, Vegas, San Jose, and Los Angeles, which as far as destinations on a road trip go, you could do much, much worse.

The Jets made a big splash in advance of their playoff push, bringing in both Sean Monahan and Tyler Toffoli, and it looked like all the pieces were in place after Winnipeg knocked off the top team in the East, the Rangers, 4-2, at Madison Square Garden on March 19 for their then fourth win in a row. As quickly as the praise came in for the Jets for going all in, the knives were out after the Jets proceeded to lose six games in a row, snuffing out any shot they had at the top spot in the Central Division and avoiding a first-round date with Colorado.

However, that date with the Avs is what the Jets are currently looking at, as they are third in the Central, four points back of the Avalanche with a game in hand and six points up on Nashville with both teams having six games to play. Winnipeg will play both Nashville and Colorado on this roadie, so there is still much to be decided. That said, the Jets are a tremendous “buy low” candidate the rest of the way, and we are going to test that hypothesis with our bankrolls this afternoon.
