We faded the Bruins in their last game in Nashville and although we ripped up that ticket, we see no reason not to come right back and fade the B’s again tonight on the final stop of their six-game road trip that has seen them travel after seven straight games going from Boston to New York, Philadelphia, Sunrise, Tampa Bay, Washington, Nashville and not to Raleigh. After tonight the Bruins host the Panthers on Saturday afternoon in what is a huge game in the fight for first place in the Atlantic Division, as Boston is just four points up on Florida with both teams having played 76 games.

The Hurricanes are chasing the Ranges for tops in the Metropolitan Division, where they trail the Rangers by five points, but with one game in hand. The Hurricanes are playing some of their best hockey of the year at the moment, having gone 8-1-1 over their last 10, including back-to-back shutout wins over the Canadiens and Red Wings. While the Bruins have been grinding it out on the road, the ‘Canes have had some time to catch a breath and push for the stretch run. They’ve been off for three days, and figure to be ready and willing to skate circles around the Bruins, who might be running on fumes after such a condensed road trip in which this will be Boston’s sixth game in 13 nights. Even if the Bruins are firing on all cylinders, the Hurricanes are elites, while Boston is not.
