7:05 PM EST. OT included. We’re not going to get into a lot of detail here regarding the Kings, as they just happen to be the team that is facing our fade target here. That said, Los Angeles is coming four straight wins over Anaheim, Detroit, Washington and St. Louis so they are feeling pretty good coming into this one. The Kings remain an above average possession team and an above average defensive team also. They are now in one of the more favorable spots of the year.

We like the Blackhawks. The advanced metrics like them too, especially over the last month in which they have soared up the possession rankings all the way to a #3 ranking from November 3 to the present. We’ll put that on the back burner here, as situational betting takes precedence. Chicago is coming off back-to-back OT games against one of its biggest rivals in a home and home series, the Dallas Stars. This game will be Chicago’s sixth game in nine nights, fifth game in seven nights, fourth game in six nights, third game in four nights and tail end of back-to-backs. It gets even worse. After a home win against the Rangers on November 15, Chicago has played the following games: at Pittsburgh, at Tampa, @ Florida, home to Anaheim, at Nashville, home to Dallas and finally at Dallas last night. The Blackhawks had to fly home for this home game tonight, marking not only their sixth game in nine nights but the fact that they had to travel to their next destination by plane in every single one of those games. Fatigue has to be a major factor here, especially considering that Chicago’s last two games went into OT and this one is an even earlier start in Chicago than usual. The Blackhawks figure to be running on fumes here while the Kings had yesterday off after a satisfying win in St. Louis on Friday and figure to be the sharper team by a country mile.
