We are going back to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament, where we are going to set our sights on the Bobcats of Quinnipiac, who are the #1 seeds in this tournament after posting a 15-5 record in the MAAC and a 23-8 mark overall. 23-win seasons are nothing to sneeze at, but not all 20+ win seasons are created equal. In the case of the Bobcats, they played a very weak non-conference schedule that ranked just 350 out of 362 ranked college hoops programs at the Division I level. There are so many weak wins on the Bobcats' résumé, and we’ll list them here because when you feast on cupcakes, you often eventually get exposed when the chips are down. Quinnipiac holds non-conference victories over Coast Guard (238), Central Connecticut (257), Army (345), UAlbany (252), Stonehill (358), Navy (322), Holy Cross (348), and Lafayette (313).

The Golden Griffins of Canisius played yesterday, but we love that they have a game under their belts while Quinnipiac has been sitting idle for three days waiting for the winner of that #8 v #9 game. Canisius disposed of Mount Saint Mary’s (MSM) 77-61 and likely cannot wait to get back on the court today to take their shot at another fraudulent team that played a weak schedule, as MSM did. The Golden Griffins played the 68th toughest non-conference schedule in the nation, and while we are only one game into the MAAC Tournament, it's hard to argue that it didn’t serve them well.

Take back the points here if you like, but we are not going to let up now on the MAAC, as there is too much value on the Golden Griffins to win this game and “shock” the #1-seeded Bobcats for a spot in Friday’s semi-final. If Canisius keeps it close and loses a heartbreaker, so be it, but if they are going to be in a position to cover this game, they are likely going to be in a position to win this game, which gives us the potential to take home a tidy profit. The Golden Griffins for the win is the way we are playing this one.
