San Francisco +103 over Boston

1:35 PM EST. The Red Sox have taken the first two games of this series, and they will send out Josh Winckowski (RHP - BOS) to try and secure the sweep as he continues to replace the injured Nick Pivetta in the rotation. Winckowski has made two other starts, but he only lasted 3 innings in both, as the Red Sox have been hesitant to stretch him out too long. Through his 18 IP, Winckowski has a serviceable surface ERA of 3.50, but his xERA is an inflated 4.88. He is also walking batters at a 4.00 BB/9 clip. In his two starts, Winckowski has just two punchouts in 6.1 IP.

Meanwhile, the Giants will send out Kyle Harrison (LHP - SF), who in his first full season as a starter, looks the part. Harrison took a tough-luck no-decision in his last start last Friday night versus the Pirates where he struck out seven across six scoreless innings. In that start, Harrison induced 13 swinging strikes in his 93 pitches, but the Giants could not plate a lousy run for him in a 3-0 shutout loss. On the year, Harrison sports a 4.09 ERA, but his xERA is a touch lower at 3.84 and he sports a sterling 31:5 strikeout-to-ball ratio through 33 innings (five starts). With the Red Sox being in the bottom third of the league against lefties (20th in average), there is value to be had in Harrison and the Giants as a small underdog.
