Milwaukee -104 over Minnesota

1:10 PM EST. The Brewers are a perfect 4-0 to start the season and likely cannot wait to get back to the ballpark today for the finale of this two-game series with the Twins. The Crew will send Joe Ross (RHP - WAS) to the mound today, and he is making his debut for the Brewers after last starting for the Nationals in 2021 before undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2022. Ross pitched in eight minor league games last season, but did not see any time in the bigs.

Meanwhile, the Twins will answer with another pitcher making his first MLB start since TJ surgery, as Chris Paddack (RHP - MIN) last started back in May of 2022. However, he did make two relief appearances for the Twins in last year's playoffs where he pitched 3.2 innings. Chris Paddack (RHP - MIN) made it back for two September outings last year following a rehab from his 2022 Tommy John surgery. A 15/3 K/BB split over 10 minor league innings is encouraging, but this was his second TJS and 2019 is receding further into the rearview. Dude was an 11th pick in the 8th round of the 2015 draft and now he’s favored on the road. That’s not reasonable.

With both pitchers being huge question marks, we are going to turn to the Twins bats, which have already gone cold. Minnesota has scored just two runs on seven hits over the last two games in which they were shut out 11-0 by Kansas City, and the two runs they scored yesterday versus the Crew both came on sacrifice flies. Manager Rocco Baldelli is already bemoaning his team for lacking discipline at the plate, “When we do hit the ball on the barrel, we want to get something out of it. Overall, I think we could have had better at-bats." Through four games, the Twins are hitting a puny .188, the second worst mark  in baseball. Wrong side favored.
