Cincinnati +122 over Philadelphia

6:40 PM EST. Graham Ashcraft (RHP - CIN) missed time last year to calf and toe injuries. Otherwise, his skills looked a lot like 2022. And like in 2022, the metrics don't seem to fit his nasty, sinking, 97-mph stuff. Times-through-order stats are telling: 3.13 ERA 1st time through, followed by 4.85 the 2nd, 6.45 the 3rd time through. Converted to SP from relief, those numbers suggest a return to the bullpen in time but we’ll see. Regardless of how he does, this wager is all about betting against Spencer Turnbull (RHP - PHI) and the Phillies. Dude is a big time, career losing pitcher that has less than a 50% chance of winning on his best day.

Turnbull, who signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Phillies this offseason, was set for a bullpen role before Taijuan Walker went down. Instead, he re-adjusted his routine to begin the season, and he delivered encouraging results in his first spring start but so what. Dude had a decent spring but spring results mean jack most of the time. Fact is, he’s a reliever with very average or below average results. In 50 career starts, Turnbull has 12 wins and 29 losses at this level with an xERA of 4.51. Now he’s -140 because why?
