Baltimore -1½ +124 over L.A. Angels

3:05 PM EST. The Orioles won 101 games last season and only got better by adding a legit ace in Corbin Burnes (RHP - BAL) from Milwaukee. Baltimore gave up DL Hall, Joey Ortiz, and a compensatory draft pick for Burnes, who didn’t have the best numbers last season, but like the O’s, we are in a position to potentially profit because his stock is low. Dude is still just 29, and he looks and sounds rejuvenated in Baltimore with a chance to make an impact on a legit contender, as the O’s are 12-1 to win the World Series.

Meanwhile, the Angels' season win total is pegged at 71½, which is the fifth lowest total on the board behind the A’s (56½), Rockies (59½), White Sox (61½), and Nationals (66½). The loss of superstar two-way player, Shohei Ohtani, to their neighbors to the north at Dodger Stadium looms large here, as the Angels are now the team that wasted both Ohtani and Mike Trout, arguably the best player of his generation's prime years and have nothing to show for it. Trout is now 32, but he’s been ridden hard with years of significant injuries piling up. Beyond Trout, there isn’t much else in the Halos lineup to be scared of. By the way, with Ohtani, the Halos only won 73 games last season.

When Patrick Sandoval (LHP - LAA) is your opening-day starter, you can figure it will be a long year. Last season, he struggled, going 7-13 with an xERA of 4.73, while also seeing a dip in his strikeout rate (9.14 K/9 to 7.94 K/9), his percentage of strikes thrown (23.7% to 19.6%), and an uptick in his walk rate (3.63 BB/9 to 4.60 BB/9). Sandoval finished the year with a bloated 1.54 WHIP, a career-high. Sandoval is not getting better, he’s getting worse, just like the Angels on the whole. To get the O’s at plus money on the run line (-1½) is a gift and we're all over it.
