7:40 PM EST. Carlos Carrasco (RHP - CLE) picked up a win over the Angels last Sunday to bring his record to 2-2. However, he gave up six hits while posting just three Ks to 2 BBs over 6 IP. While Carrasco was able to keep those base runners off the board in that turn, that has been the exception and not the rule, as he had given up 15 ER over his 15.1 IP across three starts. Across his seven turns this season (33.1 IP), the one-time strikeout artist has 26 Ks to 17 BBs. Carrasco’s strikeout prowess has been in decline for years, and there is little here to suggest that the 37-year-old isn’t ready to be put out to pasture.

By contrast, the White Sox will answer with Garrett Crochet (LHP - CHI), who is coming off a stellar one-run outing in which he struck out six across six innings. Over his last two starts (11 IP), Crochet has allowed just 3 ER while posting a 13:1 K-to-BB ratio over that time. His quality is not limited to just those turns, by the way, as Crochet posts a sparkling xERA of 2.42 in 40.2 IP on the season despite his surface ERA being a bloated 5.31. Crochet is a pitcher still under the radar, but he won’t be for much longer. Get on the bandwagon now.
