Washington over Texas

8:05 PM EST. Look, Trevor Williams (RHP - WAS) is no prize pig at the county fair, but there is no justification for Andrew Heaney (LHP - TEX) to be favored in this range against a Nationals side that is capable of putting up runs in bunches. While the Nats bats were silenced last night, they put up 30 runs in the three games prior and won four straight. Regardless, Williams has pitched pretty well, posting an xERA of 3.00, a WHIP of 1.05, and he’s pitched at least five innings across each of his five starts, totaling 26.2 IP. In his last turn on Friday, Williams threw 80 pitches across 5 IP, with 46 going for strikes.

As for Andrew Heaney (LHP - TEX), there is nothing in his profile to justify an inflated price in this range. Heaney has seen a steady decline in his skills over the last two seasons, and his strikeout rate is now at its lowest since 2015, which was his rookie year. In his last turn against the Mariners, Heaney gave up five hits, three of which were extra bases, and a pair of two-run jacks. It was the second start in a row he gave up multiple home runs. Win, lose, or draw, the value on the Nationals in this spot is tremendous, and we are not going to pass it up.
