8:05 PM EST. Game 6 is upon us in the entertaining war between New York and Indiana, one that's been quite the rollercoaster since it kicked off 10 days ago. The two highest scoring games in the series were at Madison Square Garden, two high-tempo altercations where each offense had a ton of success; both programs shot 52% from the floor or greater in Games 1 and 2. From a scoring perspective, efficiency devolved in Games 3 and 4, mostly a product of a tired and injured Knicks' roster. Without OG Anunoby, a guy they've had a ton of success with since he joined the team (25-6 straight up with OG in the lineup), the Knicks were too handicapped to maintain their success. Two contests at Gainbridge Fieldhouse made many think that the series had turned in favor of the upstart Pacers. New York scored just 106 and 89 points in enemy territory, suddenly clunky and out of rhythm. In Game 4 the Knicks shot just 33.7% from the floor.

But coach Tom Thibodeau, who we believe should get more credit for the Knicks' incredible success this season, made a sharp adjustment. In their last battle, he put Miles McBride, the explosive 23-year old guard from West Virginia, into the starting lineup, and it made all the difference. New York became a smaller and more capable offense immediately with the change, putting up 38 points in the first quarter and riding that lead through the contest. They became the attackers, dominating under the rim with a 62-36 advantage in the paint and outrebounding the Pacers 53-29. Of course home court advantage has played a major role in the semifinals, each outfit riding the energy of their supporters to catalyze their offenses.

That will play a big role again tonight for a Pacers' squad facing elimination, hence the 6-point spread in their favor. Either way, this affair is bound to deliver more points. New York's smaller lineup was able to go toe-to-toe with the blitzing approach of their opponent, something they likely won't stray away from tonight. Although Indiana's defense has looked good at times, it's also appeared vastly unmatched in games where New York finds an early rhythm. Even better, Jalen Brunson and his colleagues didn't need to commit the same energy to Game 5 since they ended up crushing the Pacers by 30-points. Their gas tanks should be full, while the home team will hope to match the same offensive aggression they carried into Games 3 and 4. This total is way too low, considering all these factors. We have it in the mid 220s.
