7:00 PM ET. OT included. Let’s start with the Golden Knights. After a four-game win streak, they’ve now dropped back-to-back contests (0-1-1) and are showing signs of vulnerability. Their most recent loss to Pittsburgh was especially telling—Vegas had to claw back from a 2-0 deficit just to force overtime, and despite peppering 37 shots on goal, they couldn’t convert enough of those chances to take control. In fact, their inability to finish was a key theme, with defenseman Noah Hanifin acknowledging that while they had plenty of looks, they couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities. With 38 shots on goal and only two goals to show for it, you have to wonder if the Golden Knights are starting to run into a bit of a scoring drought.

Now, let’s talk about the Blue Jackets. Yes, they’ve lost three of their last four, but there’s some encouraging signs here too. In their loss to the Devils, they showed resilience, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to make it a one-goal game. Mathieu Olivier, who’s been a bright spot with five goals and two assists in his last seven games, and Kirill Marchenko, who netted his 15th goal of the season, showed that the Jackets have the ability to compete. Though they ultimately fell short, their ability to mount a comeback in a tough environment like New Jersey shows they’re not giving up without a fight. Moreover, Elvis Merzlikins was solid in net, stopping 23 shots, but was let down by defensive lapses that allowed the Devils to score in bunches.

The Blue Jackets have been competitive in recent games and at home, they have a little more swagger, especially with Olivier and Marchenko firing on all cylinders. With the Golden Knights struggling to string together consistent performances, and Columbus motivated to get back on track, +150 is great value for a Blue Jackets team that’s more than capable of pulling off an upset.
