10:00 PM ET. Regulation only. The Kings continue their road trip with heavy hearts, but that hasn’t stopped them from playing their best hockey of the season. Coming off a gritty 2-1 overtime victory against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night, the Kings are now riding a five-game winning streak and a scorching 13-2-2 run over their last 17 games. It’s impossible to ignore the emotional context of this ½game for the Kings. The devastation caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles has been a rallying cry for the team, as evidenced by their postgame remarks following last night’s win in Winnipeg.

The Flames have been off for four days and enter this game having won just three of their last eight games. While they did earn a 3-2 overtime victory against the Ducks earlier this week, it came against one of the league’s bottom-dwelling teams. Calgary’s offense has been inconsistent, and the absence of Connor Zary—combined with the pressure on newly called-up Rory Kerins—leaves questions about their scoring depth.

The Flames are small home underdogs (however, they may be favored by puck drop), but that’s due to the Kings playing on the second half of a back-to-back. If not for that, the Kings would be spotting a more significant price, which is why we see value in this spot. We'll also note that despite this being a back-to-back, prior to last night's game versus the Jets, L.A. had six days off. With all that is surrounding the Kings at the moment, motivation and a strong effort should not be an issue here in Cowtown.
