Anaheim over Tampa Bay

The Lightning roll into Anaheim on a three-game losing streak and are playing their second game in as many nights (and their third game in four nights) after a 2-1 loss to the Kings on Saturday. Tampa Bay’s frustration is evident, and their offense is struggling, having managed just two goals total over their last two games. Tampa Bay’s road form isn’t exactly inspiring either, with a 6-8-3 record away from Amalie Arena.

Anaheim, on the other hand, has been good hockey, taking down Edmonton, New Jersey, and Winnipeg before a narrow 3-2 loss to the Oilers. This is a team that leads the league in third-period comebacks and has displayed a “never out of it” attitude that’s tough to quantify but impossible to ignore. The market continues to price Anaheim like a bottom feeder, but their recent performances and Tampa Bay’s struggles suggest otherwise.
