8:00 PM ET. OT included. San Jose’s struggles are well-documented, but there are reasons for optimism. Rookie phenom Macklin Celebrini continues to be a bright spot, and his 27 points in 27 games are no fluke. He’s playing massive minutes, contributing consistently, and giving the Sharks a puncher’s chance on any given night. San Jose, for all its faults, is back home and has had a few days to regroup. The Sharks are taking back a price at home against a team that’s no more reliable than they are.

Philadelphia enters this game as a road favorite, a role they’re wholly unqualified for. The Flyers have dropped two of their last three games, including blowing a 4-2 lead against the Kings on Sunday. Their goaltending situation is as much of a mess as San Jose’s, with Samuel Ersson posting a ghastly .880 save percentage. Philadelphia’s defense has been in shambles, allowing four or more goals in six of their last seven games. This is not a team built to spot a tag on the road, yet here we are.
