7:07 PM ET. OT included. The Capitals arrive in Columbus riding a nine-game road winning streak, a franchise record that has the market understandably bullish on them. Winners of six of their last seven and perched atop the Metropolitan Division, Washington’s dominance has been evident. Even without Alex Ovechkin for the past nine games, the Caps have shown no signs of slowing down, but at some point, they are going to have to catch a breath, no? Despite their glowing record, Washington isn’t invincible. The Capitals' last outing—a come-from-behind win against Montreal—required a pair of Tom Wilson goals and showcased a team that can be slow out of the gate.

Columbus presents a less-than-glamorous 1-4 record in its last five games, including a lackluster 5-3 loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday. That game epitomized much of the Blue Jackets' season—slow starts, defensive lapses, and an inability to capitalize on opportunities. The Jackets have allowed a power-play goal in 14 straight games, a dubious streak that screams "stay away,” but that streak of bad luck is bound to end eventually.

The Blue Jackets may not be a powerhouse, but this is a favorable situational spot. Washington is coming off back-to-back road games at Montreal and Toronto, two hockey hotbeds, and now they descend onto sleepy C-Bus before heading back to D.C. to battle the Sabres on Saturday night.
