This is a tough spot for the Senators, as they return home tonight after a three-game road trip out West that saw them make stops in Utah (win, 4-0), Vegas (loss, 6-4), and Colorado (loss, 5-4). The Senators started the season at 4-2, but they are a team that has been lucky because their analytics do not show a team that should be scoring as many goals as they are, with many of those goals coming on the power play. That said, special teams goals are a luck-based statistic that cannot be counted on from game to game, and with the Sens scoring power play markers in all but two games this season, there could be a correction to the bad coming at any time. Regardless, the Sens are not worthy of being priced in this range in this situation.

The Blues are in the midst of a road trip that has already seen them make stops in Toronto (win, 6-4) and Montreal (loss, 3-0). St. Louis has put together a 5-4 record this season, and while the analytics show a team that is middling in the bottom third (23rd) of the league in puck possession numbers, their competition tonight in the Senators rank 21st. These two teams are far closer in quality than these odds would have us believe, which makes the Blues a value play, because at worst, this is a 50/50 proposition.
