Florida over Edmonton
8:07 PM EST. OT included. Maybe it’s just the cynic in us, but when anybody in sports says anything, we’re inclined to believe the opposite is true, as these guys rarely give up anything with regard to their true thoughts and feelings about anything. With that premise established, we turn to Zach Hyman’s comments in advance of this Game 3 in Edmonton, where the Oilers will take the ice down 2-0 in this series, "There's nothing to be tight about. We're down two, but we haven't lost on home ice. That's the key; go out and take care of business at home. Win one game, that's it." Y’all, when someone says there is nothing to be tight about, there is most definitely something to be tight about. We have boots on the ground in the City of Champions, and it’s not just the Oilers who are “tight,” as the collective of Oil Country hold their breath while the Oilers grip their sticks tight enough to get splinters.
If the Oilers had returned from Florida tied 1-1, there would be much less pressure here from all sides, but for those who think the passionate Edmonton crowd could be the difference here, let us tell you, this is a fickle bunch, and if the Panthers get the first goal tonight, air will be let out of Rogers Arena faster than you can say “McJesus.”
In Game 1, the Oilers were the better team but could not put enough pucks past Sergei Bobrovsky to win that game, and in Game 2, the Panthers did what they normally do and skated circles around their opposition and made them pay for every slight transgression. In Game 2, the Cats also did not give up a single high-danger scoring chance. As for what will happen on the ice in Game 3, we’ll leave that for the talking heads, as the narrative here is that this is a “must-win game” for the Oilers.
The “must-win” angle is a tired one, but it’s one that the media and the market eat up. However, like the “revenge” angle and so many other sports betting clichés, they can influence the market, and we’ve seen that reflected here in the line for Game 3. The Oilers opened as a -117 favorite, and at the time of this posting, they are now laying around -132 or thereabouts. That’s an inflated price, and it now puts us in a position to back the Panthers at tremendous value.

For instance, a baseball game at most sportsbooks has 20 to 25 cent margins
Arizona -150
Detroit +125
That’s a 25 cent margin but at Pinnacle, it’ll be an 9 cent margin (see example)
Arizona -145
Detroit +134
If you bet on sports daily, Pinnacle is a must have because of their low margins.
