7:07 EST. OT included. We’re not going to sugarcoat the current state of the Blue Jackets, as they are last in the East and in the midst of a five-game losing streak. The Jackets have just one lousy win in their last 10 games, but from our perch, that futility only sours the market further from taking a look at this team. Columbus is so far removed from its 3-2 start that we are sure those wins are long forgotten by anyone not wearing a Blue Jackets sweater. While it was just one game, the Jackets were up late on the Rangers in their last game but gave up that lead with just 11 seconds to play before losing a heartbreaker in overtime. In a losing effort, Coach Pascal Vincent liked what he saw, "We were playing the right way, so that's a step forward." Aside from the Rags, the Jackets also lost games to Detroit (5-4), Dallas, and Florida (5-4 in OT) over the last eight days. The Jackets stock is low and they're not playimng poorly.

The Penguins are heating up, as they have won four straight games, which includes a pair of shutouts, including one Saturday night versus the Sabres and one last Tuesday against the Ducks. The Penguins also knocked off a very good Kings' team and potted 10 goals on the lowly Sharkies across that run, so their stock is rising quickly. The wins are nice, but truth be told, the Pens lost five of six before that winning streak. The biggest problem for the Penguins this season has been their inability to find the back of the net, and the second biggest problem has been a propensity to give up odd-man rushes and high-quality scoring opportunities for their opposition. During their winning streak, the Pens have outscored their opposition 20-5, but in their losses over their last 10 games, they gave up six goals to the Red Wings, four to the Blues, four to Dallas, five to Ottawa, and four to Anaheim. In this highly luck driven outcome sport, there is plenty of value to found on this home pooch.
