Los Angeles -½ -108 over Philadelphia

7:30 PM EST. Regulation only. We're going to continue to ride the Kings, as they are playing near-perfect hockey on this road trip, and they take a big step down in competition today after stops in Toronto and Ottawa earlier this week. The Kings wholly dominated the analytics in both of their wins in Ontario, where they beat the Maple Leafs 4-1 on Halloween night before knocking off the Senators on Thursday. The Kings outshot the Sens 38-to-26 in that game while racking up 13 high-danger scoring chances to Ottawa's six. That game is not an outlier either, as Los Angeles is the fourth-ranked team in the NHL in puck possession thus far, trailing only Carolina, Edmonton, and Colorado.

The Flyers are 5-5-1, but they rank 24th in the power rankings because they are just not that good. When playing top-10 competition, Philadelphia is just 1-3, and the Kings most definitely rank as top-10; in fact, coming into tonight, L.A. is ranked fifth, right behind the likes of Vegas, Boston, and Colorado. Back to the Flyers, who are coming off a lopsided 5-1 win over Buffalo in a game they played without their number one goaltender or their number one center. Wins are wins, and they all count the same, but the Flyers would go on to score three goals on their first eight shots to set up backup goalie Sam Ersson for a relatively stress-free night. Prior to that, Ersson hadn't been able to stop a beach ball. As for who the Flyers will start today, there has been some chatter that Cal Petersen will get his first start of the season to play his old team, but that is a tough assignment. The reality is, we don't care a lick who plays goal for the Flyers today, they are going to be in a prime position to have a bad time.
