7:07 EST. Regulation only. The Senators are much improved over seasons past, but it has not been all sunshine and rainbows despite relatively positive results. Ottawa is 4-4, but the Sens have suffered from inconsistent play from one game to the next. The Sens posted a 5-2 win over the Penguins on Saturday night in a game where Ottawa was outshot 43-26. Before that fortunate win, the Sens dropped three straight games to the Islanders, Sabres, and Red Wings. The Senators have not played since Saturday night and have been sitting idle for four days, waiting for an invader who cannot wait to get back on the ice.

The Kings started their road trip in Toronto on Halloween night, where they put forth a strong effort and beat the Maple Leafs 4-1 win. L.A. has now won all four of its road games, which is a fine quality to have, and a great way to bond early in a season. The Kings are coming to play every night, and they are dictating the pace of play, whether at home or away. We see no reason not to continue to ride them while there is still value to be mined. Finally, note the total here, which was 7 last night, (down to -6½), which suggests lots of fireworks and thus playing the Kings in regulation at this very sweet price is the prudent move.
