10:07. OT included. This is a situational play against the Kraken, who are coming home after a four-game road trip that saw them play games in Detroit, Carolina, Florida, and Tampa Bay. Seattle went 2-1-1 on that roadie, but both of those wins came in overtime, and had a bounce or two gone the other way, the Kraken could easily have posted a goose egg in the win column.

Nashville is in the midst of a road trip that started on Tuesday night in Vancouver, in which the Predators dropped a 5-2 decision despite outshooting the Canucks in that game. That loss brought the Preds' record to 4-5, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that Nashville was much the better side, even if the scoreboard did not reflect that fact. The Preds' puck possession numbers were off the charts, and they posted 16 high-danger scoring chances to just six by Vancouver.

That roadie continues tonight in Seattle before the Preds head to Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton. Those are three winnable games, but more importantly, starting 0-2 would not set a good tone in the Nashville locker room. Expect the Preds to have their claws sharpened and ready to pounce.
