Anaheim +268 over Boston

This is a case of “sticking with it,” as we faded the B’s in their game against Chicago on Tuesday night, which was also the final game of their Western Conference road trip. As they did in Chi-Town, the Bruins just keep winning and are now 6-0 for only the second time in their storied 100-year history. It’s a nice achievement in a year of celebration in Boston, but we all know just how far those regular-season wins get a team come playoff time. That said, the B’s are the hottest team in the league at the moment (again) and therefore they are also overpriced (again). Furthermore, the Bruins have played the weakest schedule so far, with their wins coming over Chicago (twice), Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Jose, and Nashville.

The Ducks are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to market perception, but thus far they appear to be a team that is going to be a thorn in the side of anyone they play. That is a fine quality to have when the prices being offered up on a team like Anaheim are so inflated. The Ducks are not as poor as they were last season, and they proved that with their performances where they have gone stride for stride with some stiff competition, having played the fifth toughest schedule so far. In fact, the Ducks played the Bruins in Anaheim just last Sunday, and in that game, the Ducks dominated every aspect of the game but the final score. Anaheim outshot the Bruins, obliterated the B’s in puck possession, and had 12 high-danger scoring chances to Boston’s five and deserved a better fate in that game. We cannot predict if the Ducks will throw the kitchen sink at the Bruins once again, but at this price, we’re damn sure going to find out.
