Vegas -½ +120 over Florida

8:00 PM EST. The Golden Knights need little introduction here, as you saw their star-studded roster all over the score sheet in Game 1, notching that first win by a 5-2 final. All we’ll say about the Knights in advance of Game 2 is that they cannot wait to get back on the ice tonight.

To borrow a phrase from the hardwood, it's time for a full-court press on Sergei Bobrovsky and the Panthers. The Cats are saying all the right things after losing Game 1, as Anthony Duclair pointed out, "When you're in this position, it could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so you've got to make the most of it." He's right, but he also sounds like a player who is just happy to be here, no?

Next up is Panthers' coach Paul Maurice who said, "We all just need to R-E-L-A-X. We lost the first game in the Boston series as well. Got a little better. Lost two more. Got a little better. Everybody just f*****g breathe." We hope the coach can see the irony in letting everyone know they need to chill while dropping an "F-bomb" in front of the press.

Finally, "Bob" chimed in, "It's the first game. It's a long series. Lots of hockey ahead of us. We play, we learn, and we move on." Too bad for Bobrovsky he isn't a politician, so just saying something does not make it true. After one game, the Panthers sound a lot more like pretenders than true contenders.

Momentum in hockey is not like momentum in other sports, as most games are decided by the goaltenders. The scorching hot play of "Bob" is the only reason the Panthers are here, but with his four goals allowed in Game 1 after a 10-day layoff, the fire is out cold. Florida was a great Cinderella story, but it's poetic that the Panthers dream will die in the desert like so many before them who were seeking their fame and fortune. Our fade on the Cats will continue until Vegas hoists the Cup.
