10:07 PM EST. OT included, this wager is strictly about "sticking with it" after we backed Seattle against the Stars on Saturday night. The Stars would win that game in overtime as a -124 road favorite. That was Dallas' fifth win in six games and two in a row going back to late February. It's an impressive run of wins, but there are more dregs than contenders among that list, which includes Arizona, Chicago, Colorado, Buffalo, and Seattle. As of this writing, only Colorado and Seattle hold playoff positions, with the Avalanche clinging to the final Wild Card out West.

We're not going to regurgitate too much regarding just how lucky the Stars have been this season, both in "puck luck" and maximizing every potential point by making sure they make it to extra time, but we can't not bring it up. It's so glaring that it's almost blinding.

To close, the Kraken are a smaller pooch today after suffering their second straight loss and are playing the Stars again. Seattle must be a bigger pooch today, right? Nope. It's about the same. That might look like low-hanging fruit with the "red hot" Stars at the other end of the ice, but without getting into every nit-picky part of the game, the Kraken deserved a better fate the first time around. We're ready for round two. Ring the bell. Wrong side favored. Again.
