10:07 PM EST. Overtime included. The Kraken dropped a 5-4 decision to the Senators last time out, but that loss does not justify Seattle now being a home pooch to the Stars. We were on Seattle in that game. While the result was not what we were looking for, it’s worth noting that the Kraken did not give up after falling down 3-0 before you could get your popcorn. Seattle got stronger as that game wore on, outshooting the Sens 25-15 over the final 40 minutes. The Kraken actually took the lead at the 3:23 mark of the third period, but they could not get a timely save when needed.

The Stars are fraudsters in every sense of the word. Some may say, “don’t hate the player, hate the game,” but f**k that. Is it ridiculous that not every game played in the NHL is worth the same number of points? Of course, it is, but that doesn’t mean we have to go easy on Dallas for exploiting the system and racking up 37 of its 83 points in games decided by one goal or less. Moreover, the Stars have 13 points from overtime or shootout losses. Those teams you’ll find ahead of the Stars in the Pacific division standings—Vegas and Los Angeles—barely have that many points in extra time losses combined (14). Remove the horseshoe from the Stars' behinds and make each game worth three points, and you’d see a much different playoff picture out West.

This game takes “sticking with it” to a different level, as we both faded Dallas and backed Seattle in their last games, both of which were played on Thursday night. The Stars, as they are the ones who made the biggest impact, potting 10 goals against the Sabres. There are no X’s and O’s to break down in a game like that, and when a team posts a number that is more at home on the gridiron than a sheet of ice, it’s going to resonate. How else could one explain why the Stars are the chalk here in Seattle? The reality is, the Stars cannot be favored here against a superior side on their home ice. Kraken for the W.
