Minnesota -½ +130 over Washington

7:07 PM EST. Great spot for the Wild here, who are plodding along with a pedestrian 5-5 record over their last 10 games, which has them under the radar coming into this one. That said, Minnesota is truly a legit, upper tier team that is difficult to beat. The Wild have been off since Saturday so they’ve had two full days to prepare for this first game of a four game trip.

At 24-16-6, the Capitals rank fourth in the Metropolitan with 54 points. They’ve had a really good run over the past four to six weeks and they’ve deserved it with one quality performance after another. However, the Caps are truly in a difficult spot here after rallying from three down yesterday against the Islanders before cashing in during OT to complete the comeback. It was an exhilarating win against a division rival and now they’ll have to play a stranger with no scores to settle. Truth be told, it is the Wild that have a score to settle as they are 2-9-1 against Washington over the past 12 games.

The Caps will play their third game in four nights here and second of back to back. During the second half of a back-to-back, Washington is 1-4 this year but this one comes after that incredibly high moment. Furthermore, Washington heads out for a trip to Arizona, Colorado and Vegas after this game so there is a great chance we catch them here with one foot out the door.
