Seattle -1½ +105 over Chicago
8:07 PM EST. OT Included. Normally, we’d either layoff a team in a situation like this or fade them but this Seattle team isn’t normal. They are playing at such a high level that we’re going to continue with them after they became the first team to win in regulation this entire year at Boston. You would think a win like that for a second year team would be a cause for a big celebration but no, Seattle congratulated their goalie, patted his head and skated off the ice and into the locker room as if they just beat the Coyotes. It was business as usual.
A win tonight in Chicago might be a cause for a big celebration because it is the last game of a seven game trip that has seen the Kraken go 6-0 thus far with wins over the Islanders, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Buffalo and Boston. They knocked off three of the hottest teams in the league when they faced them (Boston, Toronto, Buffalo), they knocked off the two teams with the two best players in the league when they beat Connor McDavid and the Oilers and then AM34 and the Maple Leafs and they did not let down when they crushed Montreal and Ottawa, winning both by four goals. You don’t think this juggernaut of a team is excited to put a final stamp on this seven game trip? They cannot wait to get back on the ice and they could not have handpicked a more ripe opponent, especially after Chicago has reeled off three in a row, which is a minor miracle in itself.
