7:07 PM EST. OT included. The Maple Leafs need little introduction, but if we are reading the tea leaves correctly, there is a pretty good chance Toronto might be overlooking the Kraken tonight. When reading the hometown Star, we found nary a word about Seattle, however, we read a story about how disappointed the Leafs are that they cannot watch the World Junior final between Canada and the Czech Republic tonight. We even read a story about how Toronto can get ready for a playoff rematch with Tampa Bay, written by Nick Kypreos. If we didn’t know better, we wouldn’t think the Leafs had a game tonight.

The Kraken will not be overlooking this game, as they only visit Toronto once a year. It’s a homecoming game for each of the four native Ontarians on the Seattle side, while also being a big game for any kid that grew up in Canada, Sweden, or anywhere else where hockey was a big deal. That covers most of the Kraken. Beyond motivation, which will not be an issue, Seattle is an underrated team that has improved so much over last season that it cannot be priced in a similar range in Toronto tonight as it was last season. With recent wins over the Oilers and Islanders, Seattle is in decent form. It outshot the Isles 35-19. The only problem with the Kraken is the same problem many teams in the league struggle with—consistent goaltending. However, we’re not going to worry about that, as it is out of our control. All we know is that the Kraken might be the best value play on the board tonight and we’re not going to miss it.
