Maybe it’s because they play in the middle of the night, or maybe it’s because their big name stars are past their primes, while their young guns aren’t yet mainstream, but the Kings are a damn good team and a hell of a tough out. L.A. has quietly put together a solid résumé thus far with a 22-13-6 record. The Kings have not been outshot in a game since playing the Bruins in Boston on December 15, but at 35-to-30, it’s not like the Kings were dominated or outclassed. Despite being a +210 underdog, L.A. went stride for stride with the B’s, forcing overtime and taking it to a shootout where the Kings would fall 2-1.

This is a situational fade on the Bruins, who are coming off that huge come from behind win in the Winter Classic at Fenway Stadium over the Penguins, 2-1. At 29-4-4, the B’s are winning at a clip that would make the 1977-78 Canadiens blush. We acknowledge the Bruins are strong but at some point, there is going to be regression.
