10:07 PM EST. Regulation only. We’re not interested in getting behind the Kraken should the game go into extra time, thus, the Kraken in regulation is the play here. We were on Seattle last game at home, where they were priced in this exact same range against the Flames. Shockingly, Calgary would score with eight minutes left to break a 2-2 tie in what we would call a 50/50 proposition at that point. Still, the Kraken played a great game, as they almost always do but were not on the right side of the bounces. 

Edmonton played in Calgary on Tuesday and won despite getting absolutely dominated. The Flames outshot the Oilers 47-22. Tomorrow night, the Oilers will play at home on New Year’s Eve against another big rival when the Jets come calling. Thus, for the Oilers, this game is sandwiched between its biggest rival Calgary and one of its other biggest rivals in Winnipeg on New Year’s Eve on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada. The Maple Leafs were in a similar situation last night when they went into Arizona and lost 6-3 with a game on deck in Colorado on New Year’s Eve, also on HNIC. Even if Edmonton isn’t looking ahead, they’re still up against it here against one of the NHL’s most underappreciated teams.
