10:38 PM EST. OT included. The Rangers are getting too much respect on the road from the market in this spot, as they cannot be a favorite in Los Angeles. The Rags have points in three straight games, but we are not impressed with them feasting on the likes of Arizona, Seattle and San Jose. Feasting would be the wrong word to describe the Rangers' efforts in those games as they were badly outplayed by both the Yotes and the Kraken, posting pitiful puck possession numbers against both. We acknowledge the Rangers dominated the Sharks last time out, but there is little to be gained from beating up on San Jose in its current state.

Meanwhile, in a results based business, the rap on the Kings is that they’ve lost two straight games, but a closer look shows they deserved a better result in both, as they were the dominant puck-possession team against both Vancouver and Seattle. The Kings outshot the Canucks 38-to-25, but lost 4-1 last Friday night. In the second half of that back-to-back in Seattle, L.A. skated circles around the Kraken (a team that just made the Rags look silly), but had to settle for a 3-2 OT defeat. The Kings are playing some damn good hockey, but they are not getting the results. We’re investing.
