7:30 PM EST. OT Included. The Blues have won three straight games after a miserable run of losses. St. Louis isn’t just snacking on cupcakes either, as it beat both Vegas (3-2) and Colorado (3-2). Those wins will get you noticed in this market. The Blues were +167 or thereabouts in both of those games depending on where you shop. Well, they most definitely are not priced in that range tonight in Chicago.

The perception is that the Blues are taking a big step down in competition, and that may be true, but let us not forget that they couldn’t get out of their own way for nearly three weeks, losing eight games in a row and getting badly outplayed every night. In fact, during their three-game win streak, the Blues were outshot by Vegas and Colorado, and they nearly went shot for shot in their win over San Jose. Keeping pace with the lowly Sharks is not a place you want to be.

The price dictates the play here, as St. Louis goes from a significant underdog to an overpriced favorite. Although St. Louis is talented, we have seen them pull a no-show on many occasions this year and this absolutely looks like a spot where their interest may be elsewhere. The Blues goaltending has been putrid in most games and their actual play hasn’t been much better. At the very least, the Blackhawks put forth an honest effort every night and certainly have a great chance to win this one.
