8:00 PM EST. Overtime included. Before we get to this game we want to start with the absence of Nazem Kadri for Colorado. While not confirmed, he is likely going to be out for the rest of these playoffs. Some might call it “karma,” but we call it a damn shame, as he does so much for the Avs. We highlighted Kadri when writing up Colorado to win the Stanley Cup because we think so highly of him. It is unlikely the Avs are going to be as solid as they usually are on the defensive end with Kadri out. We also do not know how their lines will be juggled.

Game 1 was all that was advertised from a fireworks perspective, as both the Oilers and Avalanche lit up the scoreboard in a thrilling 8-6 final. There were 83 shots fired, which included 32 High Danger Scoring Chances. That game sailed over the total before the midway point of the second period. The series track meet was established, that is until the Oilers stumbled around turn one.

For the Oilers, two goals in two games, including being shut out in Game 2 is not very Connor McDavid-like. One has to figure that the greatest player in the world will throw the kitchen sink at the Avalanche in this game, as he and the Oilers try and dig out of an 0-3 hole. We don’t know if it will be enough to win, but that matters not with this wager. Despite not scoring, the chances for Edmonton have been there and we all know that the Avalanche are going to get theirs.

The Oilers have been heavily penalized the last two games, which may or may not continue or may or may not lead to a correction on the other side. If it does in either area, or if things get chippy and there’s a steady line to the penalty box, that works to our advantage. Get the fireworks ready once more. The stars are aligned for a wild night in Edmonton, as the Oilers try and fight for the chance to play another day.
