8:15 PM ET. There is nothing the market loves more than panic, and the Eagles have supplied two full weeks of it. Back-to-back fourth-quarter collapses, online outrage aimed at the play-caller, and eggs literally thrown at the offensive coordinator’s house. Philadelphia may be 8-4, but this is not a profile of a team peaking — it’s a team leaking. They’ve been outscored 84-56 in the fourth quarter this season, and losing Lane Johnson up front is no minor footnote. The Chargers’ defense may only be “average,” but average looks pretty strong when the opponent’s offensive line is sewing patches on the fly. The Eagles losing a warhorse like Jalen Carter from the middle of the defensive front only increases variance — which favors the underdog.

Los Angeles has no business being priced like a wounded animal here. Justin Herbert is questionable, but everything out of the building — reps, practice level, tone — suggests he’s trending toward playing, and even at less than 100%, a one-handed Herbert may still throw it better than half the league. The Chargers are 8-4, back home with juice, and getting healthier at the right spots with Omarion Hampton returning to balance the offense. The Eagles look like a team searching for answers; the Chargers look like a team holding seeding position in a chaotic AFC and refusing to blink. If Herbert is under center — and the tea leaves say he will be — we’ll happily step into the plus-money and put Philadelphia on full upset alert. Take the Bolts.
