Green Bay +5 over PHILADELPHIA

4:30 PM ET. The Eagles are widely considered one of the most complete teams in the league. A 14-3 regular season record, the NFC’s No. 2 seed, and a roster loaded with talent on both sides of the ball have earned them their status as Wild Card weekend favorites, but when the betting market leans this heavily toward one side, we’re inclined to look the other way—especially when the underdog offers as much value as Green Bay does in this spot.

The Eagles may have the shine of a dominant season, but history tells a less flattering tale. Philadelphia has lost three straight Wild Card games, and questions about Jalen Hurts’ readiness after a late-season injury loom large. Yes, Hurts has been cleared to start, but it’s impossible to ignore his long layoff and the rust factor in what will be his first game action since Week 16. Hurts may not be 100%, and even if he is, it’s fair to wonder how sharp he’ll be out of the gate.

On the other side, the Packers are a team that has quietly overachieved this season. They’ve exceeded expectations behind Jordan Love’s steady hand, an underrated defense, and a resilient coaching staff that has kept them competitive even amid injuries and a challenging schedule. Despite losing two straight to close the season, Green Bay’s offense has been remarkably consistent, averaging 28.4 points per game over their past seven outings.

This game also has shades of déjà vu. The Eagles and Packers opened the season with a wild 34-29 shootout in São Paulo, Brazil. Philadelphia escaped with the win, but the Packers more than held their own, matching the Eagles nearly yard-for-yard. Green Bay outgained the Eagles by four yards and was a play or two away from flipping that result.

Ultimately, this line is inflated. The Eagles may be the better team on paper, but playoff games are rarely about paper matchups or regular season trends. They’re about execution, momentum, and getting the bounces. Philadelphia has struggled under the weight of playoff expectations before, and while the market is enamored with their regular-season dominance, we’re happy to fade the Eagles here.
