Arizona +6½ over L.A. Rams

8:15 PM EST. The Rams are coming off a 19-9 victory against the Jets in freezing conditions, a game that highlighted both their strengths and vulnerabilities. While they emerged victorious, the Rams were outgained by nearly 100 yards and needed a late surge to pull away from one of the league’s most disfunctional teams. The Rams have won eight of their last 10 games, but only three of those victories came by more than six points.

L.A. is 4-0 both straight up and Against the Spread (ATS) over their last four. Prior to cashing in on the Jets, the Rams, knocked off the 49ers (12-6), Buffalo (44-42) and New Orleans (21-14). The win over the Bills was a great one, but the other two were stinkers, and the Rams were and underdog in two of those spots (Bills, 49ers), while spotting a field goal or less in the others (Jets, Saints) and now they are spotting a touchdown in a division game.

Arizona might not be heading to the postseason, but they’ve quietly been one of the league’s better teams against the number, sitting at 9-6 ATS. The Cardinals are coming off a tough 36-30 overtime loss to Carolina—a game they had multiple chances to win. However, in a results based business, losing to the Panthers as a touchdown favorite is not a good look. Kyler Murray showed flashes of brilliance in that game, both through the air and on the ground, and James Conner had one of his best performances of the season with 117 rushing yards before leaving with an injury.

Consider this: six of Arizona’s last seven games have been decided by six points or fewer, including three overtime contests. This is a team that doesn’t quit, even when the stakes are low. With Kyler Murray at the helm and a chip on their shoulder from being eliminated, the Cardinals are more than capable of keeping this game within a touchdown.
