Seattle’s inability to close out games has been a recurring theme, evidenced by their 3-6 record at home. Now they’re traveling on a short week to face a Bears team playing its final home game of the year.

The Bears may be mired in a nine-game losing streak, but there’s more to this team than meets the eye. Rookie QB Caleb Williams is quietly putting together a historic season, extending his interception-free streak to 326 passes—an all-time rookie record. While Chicago’s defense has been porous, allowing 30+ points in three straight games, the offense continues to show signs of life.

This is a classic overreaction spot. The market sees Chicago’s nine-game skid and Seattle’s playoff urgency, but it ignores the nuances. Seattle’s reliance on Geno Smith’s arm is a double-edged sword, particularly on the road. Soldier Field, even with the Bears’ struggles, remains a tough venue in late December, especially for a team traveling on a short week after a demoralizing loss.

The line here suggests Seattle is the clearly better team, but we’re not buying it. The Seahawks’ road woes, injury concerns, and Geno’s inconsistency make them a shaky favorite. Meanwhile, the Bears are a live dog with nothing to lose, playing their final home game in front of a crowd hungry for something to cheer about.
