Tennessee +6 -109 over Cincinnati
1:00 PM ET. The Bengals are fresh off a high-profile, nationally televised, Monday Night Football win over the Cowboys. Cincinnati’s offense is undoubtedly clicking, with Burrow playing some of the best football of his career and Chase putting up gaudy numbers week after week. The public sees the Bengals as a team finding their rhythm, but that narrative conveniently ignores the context of their recent struggles. Prior to Monday’s win, Cincinnati had dropped three straight games, with Burrow looking shaky under pressure and a defense that couldn’t get off the field. The Bengals benefitted from Dallas’ sloppy play and an unsustainable 3rd-down conversion rate to squeak out a victory.
Beyond the box score, this is a bad spot for Cincinnati. They’re on a short week after an emotionally charged game and must now travel to Nashville for a divisional-style battle against a Titans team with nothing to lose. Injuries are also piling up for the Bengals. Joe Burrow is dealing with a knee issue, and while he’ll play, his mobility could be limited. The offensive line is banged up, and that could spell trouble against a Titans defense that thrives on generating pressure.
Meanwhile, the Titans delivered a forgettable performance in a 10-6 loss to Jacksonville, officially ending their slim playoff hopes. Based on perception alone, Cincinnati should roll here, but when we dig deeper, the story isn’t so straightforward.
The Titans, for all their faults, are an undervalued team in this market. Yes, they’re 3-10 and out of playoff contention, but their defense is better than it gets credit for. Tennessee’s front seven can disrupt timing and force mistakes, a critical factor against a Cincinnati team that lives and dies by Burrow’s ability to extend plays. The Titans’ offense is admittedly lackluster, but rookie QB Will Levis has shown flashes, and this Bengals defense isn’t exactly airtight. Spotting five points on the road in a short week against a scrappy opponent is a tough ask.
