San Francisco -3 +105 over L.A. Rams

8:15 PM ET. The Rams come in riding high after a chaotic win over Buffalo, while the 49ers are limping into this one with a laundry list of injuries and a tenuous grip on their playoff hopes. Los Angeles are media darling this week, having orchestrated a wild 44-42 victory over the Bills in prime time. Matthew Stafford looked rejuvenated and has been getting tons of love from the talking heads.

As impressive as their performance versus the Bills seemed, the cracks are evident upon closer inspection. The Rams’ defense allowed six touchdowns and was fortunate to escape with a win thanks to Buffalo’s porous play. It’s easy to look at the Rams’ 7-6 record and think they’re peaking at the right time, but that narrative only has their stock trading much higher in Week 15 than it should be.

Meanwhile, the 49ers are priced like a team on the ropes, but that’s where the value lies. Yes, the injuries are a major storyline, and yes, San Francisco has struggled to stay afloat in a brutal NFC West, but this is still a Shanahan-coached team with a deep roster and a proven ability to scheme around deficiencies. Brock Purdy, while not flashy, is efficient and benefits from one of the league’s most quarterback-friendly systems. Even with a decimated backfield, the Niners’ offensive line can open lanes from whoever gets the ball. In case you missed it, star runner Christain McCaffery was finally shut down for the year amidst an injury-plagued season.

This line and the situation invite Rams money, banking on the perception that San Francisco is too beaten up to compete, but we’re not here to follow the herd; we’re here to identify value.
