Tennessee +11½ +102 over Detroit

1:00 PM EST. The Lions are paying off like a broken slot machine after a 5-1 start to the season, both straight up and Against the Spread (ATS). Their most recent ticket-cashing party was last Sunday in Minnesota, where Detroit edged out the Vikings, 31-29, as a small +1-point underdog. That was the fourth game in a row the Lions have made a trip to the pay window, which has their stock soaring. Detroit has been favored in five of its six games this season, but this is the first time they are being asked to spot double-digit points, and it's the first time since Week 2 they are spotting more than a touchdown. For the record, that game against the Bucs, where the Lions were -7½-point chalk, is the only game they have lost.

The Titans were waffled 34-10 last week in Buffalo, and while there is no sugarcoating another blowout defeat, we’ll note that Tennessee did show up to play that game and even got out to a 10-0 lead before the wheels fell off the wagon. The Titans are now 1-5 in the standings and ATS, with their only win and cover coming against the Tua Tagovailoa-less Dolphins in Week 4.

There is no doubt this line is inflated, but that is not the only reason to fade the Lions this week, as they have a big game at Green Bay next week, creating this sandwich spot with the lowly Titans coming to MoTown. Lions had Vikes last week and they have the Pack next week. There is a very strong possibility that the Titans show up in body only here. Last week’s win was emotionally and physically draining and next week is a huge rivalry game that will have major implications on the NFC North standings, where every team has a winning record thus far. By comparison, this is a near-nothing game against an AFC opponent. The Lions are vulnerable this week while the Titans check a lot of boxes.
