Las Vegas +7 +101 over L.A. Rams

4:05 PM EST. The Rams are 1-4 both in the standings and Against the Spread (ATS) and they are the third-largest favorite on the board, one of only three teams at the time of this posting spotting at least a converted touchdown. The Rams are coming off a bye week, and they are expected to get WR Cooper Kupp back into the lineup, which is one reason they are laying such heavy lumber despite their poor record. Kupp is great when he’s healthy, but he hasn’t been healthy for a couple of seasons now, and who knows what condition he’ll be in come Sunday. Kupp did practice on Thursday, which suggests he’s going to be good to go, and we anticipate there could be an overreaction in the market when his status is officially listed as “active.”

While the Rams may be getting back a once-great receiver, the Raiders traded one this week, as Davante Adams was shipped out to the Jets. The Raiders' stock has taken a hit in the market after trading a player of Adams' stature, but really, what did they lose? Adams has been injured the last two games, and he’s been miserable in Las Vegas since they benched his boy Derek Carr last year. When a player with that large of a shadow is unhappy, it hangs over the entire team. Moving Adams for draft capital is addition by subtraction, as now the Raiders no longer have to deal with his baggage.

There is no sugarcoating how bad the Raiders have been the last two weeks, as they’ve lost back-to-back blowouts. Last Sunday, the Steelers marched into the Death Star and dropped a 32-13 final on the Raiders, while the Broncos smashed them in Denver in Week 5, 34-18. Mix in the fact that the Raiders are the "1" in the Panthers' 1-5 record after Carolina beat them by double digits in Vegas in Week 5, and you have a team that is not going to get much love from the media or the market. However, it’s not like the Raiders are playing a world-beater here, and the Rams have their own problems on both sides of the ball. All that matters here is that Los Angeles is spotting a large pile of points despite having done nothing to earn the respect of such a designation. The other final little nugget we have in our pockets here is that the Rams will host the potentially undefeated Vikes on Thursday night in prime time so paying less attention to this intruder is highly possible.
