Detroit -4 -107 over Seattle

8:15 PM EST. Detroit is off to a 2-1 start after knocking off the upstart Cardinals in Week 3, following a loss to Tampa Bay in Week 2. Week 1 was an OT thriller against the Rams, but it was a game the Lions were fortunate to cover, and the market knows it. That said, this play has less to do with backing the Lions than it does with fading Seattle.

The Seahawks are off to a hot 3-0 start under new head coach Mike Macdonald, who has transformed them into a pass-heavy team, with QB Geno Smith ranking fifth in passing yards per game. Star WR DJ Metcalf has posted back-to-back 100-yard games. The Seahawks had modest preseason expectations in the NFC West, with the 49ers being the clear favorite, but the Seahawks have a 1½ game lead over the ‘Niners coming into tonight’s contest. San Francisco is 2-2, while the Rams and Cardinals are both off to 1-3 starts.

“Buy low, sell high” is the mantra, and the Seahawks are very much in the latter, as they are one of only three remaining undefeated teams, with both the Vikings and Chiefs at 4-0. This early in the season, however, schedules are very unbalanced, and there is a wide gap between a team like the Rams, who have played the toughest (Lions, 49ers, Cardinals, Bears) schedule so far, and the Seahawks, who have played the second-weakest schedule, with games against the Broncos, Patriots, and Dolphins. If you’re keeping track at home, that means Seattle has faced a murderers' row of QBs that includes Bo Nix, Jacoby Brissett, and Skylar Thompson. We write that with tongues planted firmly in our cheeks, but we hope you get the point. The Seahawks are 3-0, but they haven’t faced anyone near the quality of the Lions. Detroit is spotting deflated points here, and we are going to try and take advantage.
