Washington +6½ over New England
8:00 PM EST. This is the final game of the preseason, and it figures to draw eyes and wagers from a market that is drooling over the start of the NFL season next Thursday (Sept. 5). We’ll start with the Patriots, who are 1-1 this exhibition season. The overwhelming consensus in the media and the market is that New England is coming to play tonight, as the Pats’ position battles, especially at QB, are well publicized. Jacoby Brissett will start tonight, although rookie Drake Maye is the focus. Fellow rookie Joe Milton III, who has made some waves this preseason, is also in a fight with Bailey Zappe for QB3, and all figure to see some action here. As for their performances thus far, Maye is 8/14 for 66 yards, Zappe is 15/24 for 137 yards and a rushing major, while finally, Milton is 6/13 for 74 yards and he has the only passing TDs by the Pats in the preseason. All of that to say, the Patriots have not been lighting up the scoreboard, only scoring 17 points versus the Panthers and 13 against the Eagles. With a total of 36, asking the Pats to cover a converted touchdown might be a little spendy, no?
As for the Commanders, they have already named rookie Jayden Daniels their starting QB, and he is not likely to play tonight, which has also caused an overreaction in the market. Fellow starters Terry McLaurin and Brian Robinson are also likely to sit out, which only furthers the narrative that the former “Football Team” is not taking this contest as seriously as the Patriots. However, the ‘Manders have position battles all over the field, and they are under a new coaching regime that, while 0-2 in the preseason so far, wouldn’t shy away from a win. In what should be a low-scoring game between two struggling offenses, all the value here is on the hometown Commanders, and we’ll gladly scoop up the inflated points we’re being offered.

Detroit +125
That’s a 25 cent margin but at Pinnacle, it’ll be an 9 cent margin (see example)
Arizona -145
Detroit +134
