Arizona +10 over San Francisco

Estadio Azteca Stadium - Mexico City, Mexico

8:15 PM EST. The NFL takes its money-grubbing road show to the place it all began 17 years ago, Mexico City. It’s fitting that the league continues to return to Mexico, as in the nearly two decades since making the trek outside the United States, the NFL now has a bigger GDP than many nations. That said, what matters in this space of course is the wagering end, which has been dominated by the status of Cardinals’ pivot, Kyler Murray.

As you can see above, it’s clear that the Cards have made their decision and veteran Colt McCoy will once again get the start for the Red Birds. With that news, the injury chasers have been stumbling over each other to get to the window and fade the Cardinals, just like they did last week in Los Angeles where Arizona won by 10. You might think that once one touches that hot stove, they might not be too keen to do it again so soon.

We are not going to bother breaking down what Colt McCoy brings to the Cardinals and how he changes the game plan or what the 49ers are going to do to combat him rather than Murray. You can get all the bullshit in 100 other places. What we will say is that there is a damn good reason a player like McCoy is still in this league. He steps up when asked and gives his team a chance to win. We’re not even asking him to do that here. We’re just asking the Cardinals to cover this inflated number.

While all things are not equal, Arizona was a 3½-point dog against the Rams last Sunday with McCoy at the helm. They won that game 27-17. Now they are getting a touchdown more this week on a neutral field. What? Because Jimmy Garopolo is playing QB? Dude was going to be cut in the offseason if he didn’t restructure his contract, and the only reason he’s starting is because Trey Lance got hurt. Let’s not act like Jimmy G is Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. in his prime. Instead, let’s take advantage of the market inefficiency that has him priced like he’s the G.O.A.T.

Our Pick

Arizona +10 -108 (Risking 2.16 units - To Win: 2.00)
