The Vikings will be without Kirk Cousins, as he’s fighting off an illness, and is not expected to travel with the team. At this time it may or may not be a mutant strain of COVID, Monkey Pox or Lord knows what else. We wish Cousins well, and we’ll leave it at that.

Uh, what? Not surprisingly, different players have different opinions on the matter, which means that O’Connell is not going to please everyone. That’s life. However, that displeasure can be magnified when one is consulted on a matter and those concerns fall on deaf ears. Furthermore, a head coach is not hired to consult, he is hired to lead 50+ players into battle each week. If one or more do not buy in, it’s not going to go well. Consider this the first red flag of the Kevin O'Connell era in Minnesota.
