One could back the Ravens here -3 -120 at Bet365, but that's not really our style. We're not afraid of a half point and would rather take -3½ +102 at Pinnacle.

Baltimore -3½ over Tennessee

7:30 PM EST. Is there any bigger story in this first week of the preseason than the incredible winning streak of these Ravens? John Harbough’s sides have gone 20-0 over their last five preseasons. That’s a statistic that is pretty freaking hard to ignore.

There are times to be contrarian, but there are also times not to step in front of a freight train. The Ravens in the preseason appear to fit that billing.

Mike Vrabel has coached his Titans to a 4-6-1 preseason record, which suggests he doesn't care all that much about these meaningless games. Moreover, the Titans will be focused on their two young quarterbacks tonight, as Logan Woodside and rookie Malik Willis will battle for the backup job. Meanwhile, we’ve seen flashes from Baltimore’s Tyler Huntley in relief of Lamar Jackson last season. While it’s only the preseason, quarterback play still matters, especially if you are trying to cover a number.

The Ravens were pegged as 3½-point favorites here, but that number is coming down. We get it, it’s tempting to grab that “hook” on a key number like three, and one can double that sentiment in the low scoring games in the preseason. However, a spread of -3½ is what we call a “favorite” number. We’ll discuss this more as the season goes on, but more often than not when you see a 3½ or a 7½, we are going to back to the favorite just as we are tonight.

Our Pick
