Rutgers +6½ over Minnesota

The Golden Gophers come into this game on the heels of a 25-17 victory against a ranked Illinois in East Champaign last week that saw Row The Boat spotting a three-point tag to the hosts and covering in a 25-17 win. The Illini were taking back substantial action against Minnesota, as a ranked home dog is simply irresistible from the purposes of a curb appeal perspective. With this being said, the market is zig-zagging back on the Gophers and now taking action on a Minnesota team whose stock is through the ceiling, as they are 8-1-1 against the spread in their previous 10 outings and are presently riding a four-game winning streak. Backing the Gophers here is playing into every house inefficiency and a practice of every betting faux pas that we endorse.

By contrast, the Scarlet Knights were once undefeated and cashing tickets at a clip. However, while September was one to remember for Rutgers, October was not and so they are glad it's over. In the month of October, Rutgers did not win a game and they also didn’t cover either, so their stock is the opposite of Minnesota’s here. This is a great opportunity to invest low on Rutgers.

Finally, the number itself speaks volumes to us. One can row the boat as much as they like, but the fact remains the team with one of the best against the spread records in all of college football coming in off a win that will gain attention is not even trusted spotting a converted touchdown to a team that lost by 22 to a then 4-5 USC when they were last in action on October 25th. Then there is also the fact that Rutgers has never beaten Minnesota, which further elevates Minnesota’s skyrocketed stock. We like Rutgers to win outright but the points are juicy and we’ll grab them.
