We’re going back to attack a total in conference tournament play, as these two Sun Belt schools are set to play in the #11/#14 “play-in” game for the right to play #6 Old Dominion (OD) on Thursday. As for tonight, we’ll start with the #11 seeded Bobcats of Texas State, who have seen eight straight and nine of their last 10 games going over the posted total. “Going over” would be putting it mildly, as the Bobcats have been annihilating the overs by plus 13 (Southern Miss), 12½ (South Alabama), 14 (Coastal Carolina), 34½ (App. State), 14 (OD), 11½ (Lafayette), and 15½ against the Panthers, who Texas State will play tonight.

Much like the Bobcats, Georgia State has seen its totals sail over in five straight, six of seven, and eight out of 10. Five of those were by double digits going over by 15 at James Madison, 16½ at Arkansas State, 18 v Marshall, 15½ v Southern Miss, and 26 at the Thundering Herd. Those totals were all posted in this 128-144 range. We’ll not be tempted by this low-hanging fruit. The prudent play here is to go under.
